EspañolClaudia and Chris first met on Saturday August 27, 2005 while hanging out at a pool at a condo building in downtown Chicago. Claudia was visiting her friend Mimi, and Chris was visiting his cousin Jim. That night they met at the club called Le Passage, and then the next day they met again while boating at the "Play Pen", an area where Chicago area boaters gather and socialize. Soon after, they were dating.
On September 30, 2006, Claudia and Chris were looking for a place to get a quick drink before ending the evening. They tried to go to the romantic piano bar called Star Bar but it was closed, so they hopped in a taxi and started heading home. On the way they decided to stop at a local martini bar called the Kit Kat Lounge, which also has the distinction of featuring nightly female impersonator acts that draw a largely gay crowd. So it was as Claudia and Chris sipped their martinis and were entertained by a man scantily dressed as a woman that the topic of marriage somehow came up and they decided to get married during their already planned holiday trip to Perú.
Chris' mother Susan Bennett gave the couple an early wedding gift of a very nice diamond which Chris had reset as part of a matching bridal set. On October 20, 2006, Chris officially presented the ring to Claudia while they were guests at seafood dinner hosted by Claudia's friend Lucho Lamas and his wife at the Drake Hotel.

The legal paperwork for the marriage was filed in both the United States and in Perú on November 4, 2006 and November 28, 2006, respectively, and on December 17, 2006, Claudia and Chris held their wedding ceremony on San Bartolo beach, about half an hour south of Lima, Perú.
Claudia and Chris would like to give special thanks Claudia's mother, Mrs. Margarita Goicochea de Burgos, and Claudia's family for their tremendous help in planning the wedding in only two months. They would also like to thank Chris' step-mother Marcia Bennett for organizing a wedding luncheon for Claudia on November 18, 2006, and Claudia's friend Isabel Pera de Luna for hosting Claudia's wedding brunch on December 16, 2006. And of course, many thanks to Chris' mother Susan Bennett for the engagement diamond and for organizing a wedding party on Jan 21, 2007.

EnglishClaudia y Chris se conocieron por primera vez el 27 de Agosto del 2005, mientras disfrutaban de un día de verano en la piscina de un edificio en el centro de Chicago, donde Claudia visitaba a su amiga Mimi y Chris visitaba a su primo Jim. Esa noche se encontraron en una discoteca llamada Le Passage junto con notros amigos, y al día siguiente se volvieron a encontrar navegando en el lago Michigan, en una área conocida como "Play Pen", punto de reunión donde las personas con botes/yates socializan y se divierten practicando deportes acuáticos...Poco después, empezaron a salir juntos.
El sábado 30 de Septiembre del 2006, Claudia y Chris buscaban un lugar donde tomar un trago antes de dar por terminada la noche. Trataron de ir a un románico Piano bar, pero se encontraba cerrado así que decidieron tomar un taxi con dirección a casa. En el camino decidieron para en un bar local llamado Kit Kat Lounge a tomar un martíni. Este bar es peculiarmente conocido por la gran variedad de martinis que sirven y por presentar una variedad de shows de travestís. Fue así como, mientras disfrutaban unos martinis y del "show", cuando empezaron a hablar de matrimonios y decidieron casarse en Perú, aprovechando el viaje previamente planeado para las vacaciones de fin de ano salio a la luz.
Susan, la madre de Chris, nos dio un anticipado regalo de matrimonio, un hermoso diamante que Chris uso para el anillo de compromiso. El 20 de Octubre, Chris le entrego oficialmente el anillo de compromiso a Claudia mientras se encontraban en una cena invitados por el amigo de Claudia, Lucho Lamas y su esposa, en el Hotel Drake en Chicago.
Los documentos legales del matrimonio civil se realizaron en la ciudad de Chicago el 4 de Noviembre y posteriormente fueron legalizados en el consulado de Perú en esta ciudad el 28 de Noviembre del 2006. El matrimonio y la celebración se llevaron a cabo el 17 de Diciembre del 2006 en el club Curayacu, en la playa San Bartolo, aproximadamente media hora al sur de Lima. Fue una boda hermosa donde disfrutaron y celebraron en compañía de sus familiares y amigos.
Claudia y Chris quieren ofrecer un agradecimiento muy especial a la madre de Claudia, Margarita Goicochea de Burgos, y al resto de su familia en Perú por los grandes esfuerzos que hicieron para planear tan hermosa boda en solo dos meses. También quieren agradecer a Marcia Bennett, la esposa del padre de Chris, por organizar un almuerzo en honor a Claudia el día 18 de Noviembre; a Isabel Pera de Luna por ofrecer su casa para celebrar el brunch de Claudia el 16 de Diciembre. Y por supuesto, un especial agradecimiento para la madre de Chris, Susan, por el diamante de compromiso y por la fiesta que organizó en su casa el 21 de Enero del 2007.
